Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Trail Camera Help collects, why, and what you can do about it. It reflects the services actually in use on this site today, and is updated when that changes.

What information Trail Camera Help collects

Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to reply and nothing else.

Information collected automatically. Like every website, our server and network provider record standard technical information when a page is requested: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the referring page. These are ordinary server logs.

Analytics. Trail Camera Help does not currently run any analytics or tracking software. If that changes, this page will say which service and what it collects before it is switched on.

Email list. We do not currently operate a mailing list.

Comments. Comments are disabled site-wide.

Cookies and how affiliate links work

We do not set advertising or tracking cookies of our own. Our network provider, Cloudflare, may set cookies necessary for security and performance.

When you follow an affiliate link from this site to Amazon, Amazon sets its own cookie on Amazon’s domain so it can attribute a resulting purchase to us. That happens under Amazon’s privacy policy, not ours, and it takes effect only if you click the link.

Who else receives data

Three parties are involved in serving this site to you:

  • HostGator — web hosting. Server logs are stored here.
  • Cloudflare — content delivery, DNS, and security. Requests pass through Cloudflare before reaching our server.
  • Amazon Services LLC Associates Program — only when you follow an affiliate link.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the providers above.

How long information is kept

Server logs are retained by our hosting provider under their standard retention schedule. Email correspondence is kept until it is no longer needed to handle your query. We do not maintain a marketing database.

Your rights over your information

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, or to object to how it is used. To exercise any of these, email contact@trailcamerahelp.com and we will respond.

Because we run no analytics and hold no mailing list, in most cases the only information we hold about a visitor is a routine server log entry.

Children’s privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

Revisions are posted here with an updated date. Adding analytics, an email list, or another affiliate program will each trigger an update to this page.
